Find your new account number first
Amarillo’s new billing system uses new account numbers. Use the number on your current bill or the City’s new-account-number lookup instructions before registering or paying.
Choose portal login or one-time pay
Login/register if you want bills, payment history, hourly/monthly water usage, multiple accounts, recurring payments, paperless billing or email notifications. Use one-time pay only for a simple payment.
Use the right non-online method if needed
Official options include Pay-by-Phone at 806-576-1932, in-person at City Hall, mail to PO Box 100, drive-through on the north side of City Hall, night depository and local payment locations.
Save proof and check posting risk
Keep confirmation, amount, payment date, payment method and account number. Local payment locations may take 3–5 business days to process, so they are risky for delinquent accounts.
Call if late, tagged or disconnected
If you have a door tag, delinquent notice, disconnection, returned payment or payment plan issue, contact Utility Billing instead of only paying online.

Do not use the old account number
After the March 31, 2026 system change, your old number can create payment and registration confusion. Use the new number from the bill or lookup tool.
Drive-through is useful, but limited
The City lists the north-side City Hall drive-through as Monday–Friday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Use it for water bill payment, but verify before making a special trip.
Local payment locations are not best for shutoff risk
Because local payment locations may take 3–5 business days, call Utility Billing before relying on them for delinquent accounts, tags or restoration.
High bills need repair proof
For leak adjustment, fix the leak first and save the plumber or parts receipt. Do not wait until months later when documentation is harder to prove.
